Darcy's ideal home

Darcy is looking for an active home that doesn't have any other small pets like cats, rabbits or birds. Children living within the household or visiting will need to be dog-savvy and 12 years old or older. Darcy's ideal home with be a quiet household with not too many visitors and would have a private garden. She can live with another dog pending successful meets here at our centre. Once settled into her new home, Darcy could be left for up to six hours with breaks, if this time was built up slowly.

Darcy is a three-year-old Springer Spaniel, who came into our care with her two best friends (Cali and Moose) after being left at a veterinary practice. We have no history on Darcy, but since being in the centre she has made lots of friends, both human and canine! Darcy is happiest with her nose to the ground and enjoys using it to sniff out yummy treats. She will need adopters who can read her well and can tell when she is uncomfortable in certain situations. Darcy is looking for a more active home and would benefit from owners who have had experience with Spaniels or other working breeds.

Springer Spaniel Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Springer Spaniel.

View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
